Abstract

A field experiment was conducted to study crop growth and yield of sweet corn varieties Sweet Boy, on rates of plant population and dose of nitrogen fertilizers. The experiment was done at dry land farming area at Timpag village, Kerambitan district, Tabanan regency, starting in April - Juny 2017. The experiment was designed as Completely Randomized Block Design (RCBD), in wich two factors of treatment were arrange factorially. The first factor was plant population in three levels (K1, K2, K3) and the secand factor was rates dose of nitrogen fertilizers (0, 32, 48, 64 kg N ha ). All treatment were replicated three times. Results of this experiment indicated that the effect of interaction between rates of plant -1 population and dose of nitrogen fertilizers was not significantly (p ≥ 0,05) on growth parameters and yield of sweet corn. The treatment has a fresh weight and dry weight oven of commercials cob (without clobot) were 9,90 t ha . Plant population treatments individually gave highly significant effect (p ≤ 0,01) on growth -1 and 1,98 t ha -1 (K3) gave the highest a fresh weight commercials cob were 8,43 t or 30,09 % higher than a plant population treatment 79.365 plant ha parameters and yield. Plant population on 238.095 plant ha -1 (K1). Dose of nitrogen fertilizers treatment gave highly significantly effect (p ≤ 0,01) on all of growth parameters and yield. Dose of nitrogen fertilizers 64 kg N ha -1 (D3) gave the highest a fresh weight commercial cob were 8,81 t ha -1 or 69,42 % higher than nothing nitrogen fertilizers treatment (D0).
